Today Jan Vikas Samiti collected and distributed excess food from a marriage hall in Varanasi to poor people in two villages of Varanasi. 60 people enjoyed the food which included poori, dal, panner sabji, matar sabji, Gobi sabji, mix sabji and rice. JVS appreciated this collaboration and support from the Marriage Halls in Varanasi to feed the hungry.
Awareness Program
Awareness Program on Vaccination for Expectant Mothers and newborns and Linkage with PHC and CHC was organized in Aura, Varanasi by JVS. Mrs. Rekha Upadhay facilitated the session, which was participated by 39 expectant and lactating mothers and adolescent girls.
Distribution of Food

Medical Assessment Camp
A medical assessment camp for children with disabilities was organized today jointly by Jan Vikas Samiti and Kiran Society at JVS premise, Varanasi. Thirty three children with disabilities participated in the camp who went through different types of assessment such as Neurological assessment, IQ test, Physiotherapy and Aids and Appliances.
Distribution of Mufflers & Blankets
On the 18th of January 2023, Jan Vikas Samiti distributed 200 mufflers and 123 blankets to marginalized communities in 6 village panchayats of Varanasi.
Training on Value Chain Development System and Process of Products and E-commerce
Today, Jan Vikas Samiti organized a training on Value Chain Development System and Process of Products and E-commerce for project staff and women entrepreneurs. 30 participants from Pindra and Harahua (Varanasi) & Kerakat (Jaunpur) took part in the training. The participants learnt about e-commerce, online marketing and sales process. They also learnt about Value Chain Development Process and it’s Benefits for their business.
Shawl and Blanket Distribution Programme
On 28th December 2022, Jan Vikas Samiti distributed Shawls and Blankets in 5 Village Panchayats of Varanasi to the poor tribal families. The children were shivering due to cold and with the distribution of the shawls and blankets, we were able to witness the smiles on their and their family members faces’. The families were grateful and thankful to Jan Vikas Samiti for their efforts in these hard times and were joyous about the fact that someone is concerned about them. Therefore, one by one we went to these villages and did a survey and saw the situation of these children and families. The names were noted down of these children and families and according to that list, the distribution happened. A total of 104 Shawls and 50 blankets were distributed to these families.

Distribution of Warm Cloth
JVS today distributed sweaters and thermal wears to 96 children under JVS Education Program and 49 blankets to families from the most backward communities of Harahua block in Varanasi. The Block President of Harahua, Shri Vinod Kumar Upadhyaya, was the chief guest at the distribution program.

A training on packaging of spices for Women Entrepreneurs in Kerakat block, Jaunpur, U.P is being organized by JVS on December 14-15, 2022 . Thirty women are participating in the training program.

JVS conducted a Training on Sales & Marketing and development of market strategy for core team members and Women Entrepreneurs in Pindra block, Varanasi on 13th December 2022. Mr. Dev Narayan focused on the topics of sales and development of marketing strategy. 33 members participated in this training.
