Covid-19 Awareness & Vaccination Campaign

Raising awareness among the community on COVID-19 vaccination in the current scenario is the need for testing time to break widespread myths and misinformation about vaccine hesitancy. Therefore, Jan Vikas Samiti developed a range of IEC materials like posters, leaflets, and booklets to provide accurate and scientific information about the virus and its prevention methods to enable the community to make informed decisions to adopt COVID-19 precautions and get vaccinated in order to protect themselves, families and communities.

Vaccination against the COVID-19 virus is the key to preventing deaths and pausing the mutation of the virus into stronger and more infectious variants like Delta and Omicron. Thus, the challenges of vaccinating whopping rural communities where poverty, lack of information, limited access to health care services, and illiteracy are widespread, vaccination efforts become a formidable task.

In these circumstances, Jan Vikas Samiti, with the support of the Dasra Foundation, took up the task of investing resources for creating massive awareness on COVID-19 from the 1st week of August 2021. Besides creating mass awareness, we have facilitated vaccination for 101,988 rural population in the past 5 months in Varanasi, Jaunpur, Agra, Mahmudabad, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddarth Nagar, and Basti districts of Uttar Pradesh. Every day, volunteers of Jan Vikas Samiti set out in the field with the primary objective to create door-to-door awareness on COVID-19 viruses’ preventive measures and motivate the community members towards vaccination.
