Training on Therapeutic Services

JVS is conducting a three days (15th to 17th September 2022) residential training programme on “Implementation of therapeutic services at community level”. 24 participants are taking part in the training from Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. They`ll get hand on practice of physical therapy with theoretical knowledge. Training will help them to do an assessment of children with disabilities for preparation of individual rehabilitation plan.

Mirzapur Flood Relief 2022

As a relief response towards families impacted by the recent flood in Mirzapur district, Jan Vikas Samiti distributed ready to eat food kit and Water to 5554 persons Sikhad development block of Mirzapur to the underprivileged and destitute families. JVS Started the flood relief work on 1st September 2022 with a team of 10 persons with support of brother and fathers from Theresapur. Also, we sprinkled bleaching powder in 2 panchayats which will act as a disinfectant for the water. Our intervention is still going on.

Seminar on Inclusive Education and Child Rights

JVS organized a two days seminar on Inclusive Education and Child Rights on 26-27 August in collaboration with Composite Regional Centre, Lucknow. Over 120 participants attended the seminar. Dr. Aloka Guha, Ex-Chairperson, National Trust and Adv. K.D. Mishra, Child Protection Practioner, Patna were the resource persons for the seminar. During the second day of the seminar, a manual on INCLUSIVE EDUCATION was released which has been jointly prepared by JVS, SPARC India and Holy Cross, Sitapur together with Logic box. Mr. Pawan Sacchan – A.D., Basic Education, Dr. Uttam Ojha – Member Disability Advisory Committee, G.O.I, Mr. Lalit Narayan , D.D. PDDUNIPHH, New Delhi and Mr. Ramesh K Pandey – Director, CRC Lucknow graced the occasion of the Manual Release.

Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) organized a 3 days training on Implementation of Therapeutic Services from 4th to 6th August 2022. A total number of 13 participants from 4 states (Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal) participated in this training. This training is specially designed for the freshers who engage in community based rehabilitation especially therapeutic services. The participants learned about Basic therapeutic techniques. This training was facilitated by Mr. Hiranand.

Samuhmart is an initiative of JAN VIKAS SAMITI to empower rural women entrepreneurs and local artisans by providing them a digital platform to market their unique products and skills. Samuhmart aims to promote women’s sense of self-worth, their skills and ability to determine their own choices and their right to influence social change.

Training on Strengthening and Implementation of CBR Provisions

Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) is organizing a 4 days training on strengthening and implementation of CBR provisions from 1st to 4th August 2022. A total number of 12 participants from 4 states (Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal) are participating in this training. This training is specially designed for the freshers. The participants will learn about CBR principles and its implementation at grass root level through specific goal planning for individual children and youngsters with disabilities under guidance of Ms. Tulika Das from SANCHAR, Kolkata.

Workshop on Development of Tools

Jan Vikas Samiti is conducting a workshop on development of tools, criteria for identification and finalization of core team members and their roles and responsibilities from 19th to 21st July 2022. The total number of participants participating in this workshop are 56 and hail from Pindra and Harahua districts of Varanasi and Kerakat district of Jaunpur. The participants will be getting an idea about the Concept of Co-Operations, Cooperative’s Consistency System, Importance of Core Team and it’s mission and vision, and Completion of Cooperative Manual.

Distribution of School Kits

JVS today distributed School Kits to 100 children from most backward communities in 8 villages of Harahua block in Varanasi. The School Kit included School Bag, 2 sets of uniform with Shoes and Socks, pencil or geometric box and 10 Note books each. JVS raised the required funds from 12 Schools in Varanasi and Ghazipur through the Campaign to donate old text books, note books, magazine and News papers. Thanks to every school for your generous contributions. The Block Education Officer, Harahua with the Pradhans from the selected villages and School headmasters were present at the distribution held at JVS campus this morning. JVS and it’s team along with the JVS volunteers from these villages will continue to monitor and accompany these children to ensure their regular attendance in the School

Summer Camp

Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) conducted a four days (6th to 9th June 2022) summer camp for 21 adolescent girls with disabilities. Participants are also getting information on their health & hygiene by the resource persons. Participants learned to craft different items made by paper and other wastage materials. Participants tried out making photo frame, wall hanging, glass standing frame, plate wall hanging, flower pot, clay pot, peacock, butterfly craft, designer bottles and jute bottles. On the 4th there was an exhibition held for the handcrafted items after which the summer camp concluded. Products made are eco-friendly and commonly used at home for decorative purpose. The children were jubilant and excited to learnt something new.
