The entire management processes and practices of ‘Jan Vikas Samiti’ (JVS) are in compliance with the principles of ‘Good Governance’.

Policies & Governance

Since its inception, Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) has been working on a delegated work environment.  We function under the guidance of various policies and procedures like human resource policy, finance policy, gender policy, child protection policy etc.  The management is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of these policies. All these policies are from time to time reviewed and approved by the Governing Board of Jan Vikas on the recommendations of the executive director and the management team.

Departments & Divisions

Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) functions and carries out its works through various departments and divisions with specific roles and responsibilities set individually for each of its departments.

Governing Board

The Governing Board sets the vision, mission and broad guidelines for the organization and ensures good governance in the organization. The Governing Board has entrusted the day-to-day functioning of the organization to the Secretary cum Executive Director (ED) who is the Chief Functionary of the Organization. The Secretary reports directly to the Governing Board during its Board meeting and as and when otherwise required.

Advisory Committee

The Advisory Board of Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) comprises of technically competent people from diverse backgrounds and expertise. The body is formed for a period of three years where a few independent members with eminence and reputation are nominated each year. Members of this committee meet once a year to give their valuable inputs to the management. The committee advises the executive director of Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS), on the current developmental affairs.

Program Management Team

The Program Management Team oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations of its departments and reports to the Executive Director. Members of this team are professionals in the respective fields. The Program Management Team of Jan Vikas Samiti holds a meeting every month to take stock of the activities and plan for the upcoming month.

Internal & External Monitoring and Evaluation

Each and every project and activities are monitored and evaluated from time to time. Internal monitoring of the activities are done by the respective program team. Some projects are also evaluated further through impact analysis by both internal as well as external evaluators as per need and requirements.

Management Information System (MIS)

A monthly MIS is prepared and analyzed by the MIS Officers, which is then submitted and discussed in the Program Management Team (PMT) for assessing the operational activities and to do further planning.

Audit System

The audit is the process through which the accounts maintained by Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) is verified by an independent authorized auditor who certifies that the accounts reflect the true and fair view of the organization and its activities.

External Auditing: The external audit is conducted under the laws of the land by a qualified Chartered Accountant who certifies the financial statements of the organization. The external auditors are appointed by the Governing Body annually during the Board meeting.

Internal Auditing: Internal audit teams are appointed or entrusted by the management to ensure the internal control of the financial operation of the organization. The internal audit is conducted at least once a year and if required periodical audits are conducted as per the need.

Accounting System

The Accounts Team of Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) consists of competent and qualified accounts professionals. The accounts are maintained on a daily basis through advanced and updated computerized systems. The same is also analyzed and checked periodically by the internal control system and Internal Auditors, in compliance with standardized financial and Management Policies. Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) follows the Financial Year starting from 1st April to 31 st March. The project funding cycle may be different and are accommodated as required in the books of accounts.
