Inspiring Collaboration Between Bachpan Day Care and Muskan Day Care in Varanasi

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting 21 wonderful children from Bachpan Day Care, a Special School in Varanasi, for an eye-opening exposure visit to our Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) campus.

Our mission at JVS is to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with special needs, and this collaboration was nothing short of heartwarming. The children from Bachpan Day Care had the opportunity to visit our Rehabilitation Centre and Muskan Day Care Centre, where they witnessed the inclusive culture we foster.

During their visit, we extended a warm welcome to the students and teachers of Bachpan Day Care and shared insights into the work we do at JVS through a captivating movie presentation on a projector. It was a fantastic way to introduce them to our mission and values.

But what truly made this collaboration mesmerizing was the interaction between the students of Muskan Day Care Centre and Bachpan Day Care. They came together, forging new friendships, and engaged in games that filled our campus with laughter and joy. It was a heartening sight to see these children bond and share their experiences.

At JVS, we believe in the power of unity and inclusion, and this collaboration exemplified that spirit. It’s heartening to witness the positive impact it had on everyone involved.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with Bachpan Day Care, and we look forward to more such collaborations that spread love, laughter, and support among these amazing children.

The ethnic conflict in Manipur has left many families struggling for survival in the face of adversity. Since May 3, 2023, many lives have been lost, thousands of houses destroyed, and the need for relief support is as critical as ever. Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) took a small initiative to support people in need of relief materials at this crisis time.

Dry Ration Kits Distributed to 500 Families: Jan Vikas Samiti’s efforts took shape in the form of dry ration kit distribution, aimed at alleviating the suffering of 500 families, with special attention given to persons with disabilities, widows, and those affected by HIV/AIDS. These essential kits included 25 kg of rice, 3 kg of sugar, 3 kg of dal, and 2 litres of cooking oil, providing relief and sustenance to those grappling with the consequences of the conflict.

Phased Distribution Ensures Effective Reach: The distribution was executed over four phases, spanning from July 17th to July 28th, 2023. This initiative became a reality through the invaluable support and partnership of a local NGO operating in Manipur, whose dedication and commitment were pivotal in ensuring that aid reached the hands of those who needed it most.

Acknowledging Lifesaving Support from the Liliane Foundation: Jan Vikas Samiti extends heartfelt gratitude to the Liliane Foundation, the Netherlands for their timely and invaluable support, which made this humanitarian endeavour possible. Their help has been instrumental in reaching out to the affected people during these trying times.

A Hope for Peace: Jan Vikas Samiti is hopeful that the situation in Manipur will soon improve, paving the way for peace and stability in the region.
