Story of Aakransh

This is the story of 9 year old Aakransh, son of Ravindra Kumar and Soni Devi hailing from Danupur village of Christ Nagar, Varanasi. Aakransh suffers from Cerebral Palsy with Fits and even has communication problem as well. He has 3 sisters and father Ravindra is a daily wage earner trying hard each day to feed his family of 6.

Aakransh used to face difficulty in balancing and fell while trying to walk. Also, as he could not speak and used to convey himself through hand gestures and expressions which restricted his self-reliance to efficiently carry out his day to day ADL activities.

Admitted in ‘Muskan Day Care’ centre in year 2018 by one of our ‘Community Based Rehabilitation’ (CBR) facilitators Aakransh’s rehabilitation began with effective Physiotherapy, ADL Training and Playful Learning sessions. These effective sessions lead to gradual improvement in his movement, communication abilities, ADL activities and IQ. The intensity of ‘Fits’ too reduced over time.

Medical Nutrition and Aide Appliances facilities provided by ‘Muskan Day Care’ helped in Aakransh’s time bound rehabilitation which have gradually lead to his overall growth and development. Furthermore, organization’s frequent medical camps help the parents of kids like Aakransh get easy consultations for any support in regard with assistive devices, medical and educational services keeping in view child’s age and physical status.
