Jan Vikas Samiti mission is to eliminate barriers for children with disabilities in elementary schools in Uttar Pradesh’s three districts, namely Lucknow, Barabanki, and Sitapur. The majority of Children with Disabilities face substantial challenges to learning in conventional classrooms, such as denial of enrolment, infrastructure, and trained instructors, and they receive little help to overcome these difficulties. The inclusive education program’s objective is to equip government primary schools to meet the different educational requirements of Children with Disabilities and to raise enrolment rate and level of learning by guaranteeing accessible and adapted teaching and learning methods (TLMs) that offer excellent education.

In an another major effort, Jan Vikas Samiti in conjunction with the Liliane Foundation, CBM, and Light for the World was instrumental for the five-year initiative named ‘RAISE’ in five states of the North-East India through 15 partner organizations to facilitate and ensure inclusive education in 77 SSA schools in the region. The project’s objective is to assist partner organizations and community-based non-governmental organizations in becoming resource centres for inclusive education and to connect each organization with three to five neighborhood Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) schools in order to improve the quality of their inclusive education.

Jan Vikas Samiti organized “We Ring the bell campaign” from March 10th to 15th, 2022 in collaboration with 34 organizations from 11 states working in the field of disability. A total of 1,10,016 persons including children, parents, teachers, government officials and people’s representatives participated in the campaign.
