Varanasi, 21 February 2026: Jan Vikas Samiti organized the Women Farmers’ Conference and Recognition Ceremony at JVS premishes, celebrating women’s contributions to agriculture, self-reliance, and rural livelihoods.

Chief Guest Shri Tribhuvan Ram, MLA, Ajagara, along with Vinod Kumar Upadhyay (Block Head, Harahua), and Ram Prakash Singh (District President, Kisan Morcha), praised the dedication, innovation, and growing participation of women in agriculture.

Outstanding women farmers — Smt. Santara, Smt. Meena and Smt. Sunita — were felicitated, and a street play on natural resource conservation and sustainable farming shared impactful messages on water and soil preservation.

Technical sessions by Dr. Ganesh Kumar Gupta and Roshan Kumar (T.D. College, Jaunpur) highlighted women’s role in natural farming, livestock management, and family nutrition. The event concluded with Fagua songs, a vote of thanks, and the national anthem, attended by women farmers, self-help group members, and Jan Vikas Samiti field workers from across Varanasi.

The conference reinforced women’s leadership, confidence, and innovation, promoting agriculture-based empowerment in rural communities.
