Jan Vikas Samiti organised a one-day training on non-agricultural entrepreneurship activities at Mahgaon Panchayat, Pindra Block, Varanasi. The session aimed to equip rural women with practical skills to initiate small-scale enterprises and enhance their livelihoods.
Resource persons Mr Vivek Kumar Maurya and Dr Shivam Chaubey guided the participants on diverse income-generating activities such as incense stick making, food processing (pickles, papad, millet products), tailoring and embroidery, beauty parlour management, and handicraft production. The trainers also discussed business planning, marketing strategies, and financial management, emphasising how women can start enterprises through Self-Help Groups.
Dr. Chaubey further introduced livelihood options like poultry, goat rearing, mushroom cultivation, and beekeeping as complementary income sources.
A total of 52 women participated actively and expressed their commitment to adopting these livelihood activities to become self-reliant and contribute to local economic development.
