The ‘Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’ (CRPD) recognizes the right of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) to engage in sports, play, and recreation. However, this right is not always realized and persons with disabilities remain marginalized in terms of access to sport, and this has been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic for the past two years. Sport is a powerful tool, not just for individual health, wellbeing and leisure, but also as an opportunity for inclusion. There is a need for athletes with disabilities to receive the same level of support as able-bodied athletes, in order for them to excel. Realizing the fact, JVS organized a regional cricket tournament for persons with disabilities on December 2-3, 2021 to showcase their talent. Teams from Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal participated in the tournament. The West Bengal team won the tournament, defeating Jharkhand their counterparts.
