Nutrition Garden Seed Distribution Programme Held in Murdaha, Varanasi
Promoting Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture through Poshan Vatikas
Jan Vikas Samiti, Murdaha, Varanasi, in collaboration with Purvanchal Gramin Krishak Producer Company Ltd., successfully organized a Nutrition Garden Seed Distribution Programme on 2nd December 2025. A total of 25 women farmers from different Gram Panchayats of Harahua Block participated in the event.
JVS Director, Fr. Chandran Riymonds distributed seasonal vegetable seed kits to the participants and highlighted how Poshan Vatikas play an important role in ensuring nutrition security, strengthening women’s involvement, and improving family health.
Agricultural Scientist Dr. Shivam Chaubey provided detailed training on the significance and benefits of nutrition gardens. He explained the process of establishing nutrition gardens at home, seed treatment, plant protection, natural farming techniques, and the use of organic nutrient solutions. He emphasized that Poshan Vatikas serve as a sustainable, affordable, and reliable source of household nutrition.
