Project Launch- Rural Livelihood
On 12th May 2023, a noteworthy project aimed at enhancing women’s livelihood based on jute products and home decor items was launched with the support of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The launch event was inaugurated by Mr. Anuj Kumar Singh, the AGM of NABARD, and Mr. Rajeev Malik, the Branch Manager of B.UP Bank Ayar Branch.
To introduce the project aims and objectives, an orientation program was organized during the launch event, which was attended by 70 self-help group (SHG) women members from 30 SHGs in the Harraua block. These women have been identified as the direct beneficiaries of the project and will be engaged in the production and marketing of jute-based products and home decor items. The primary objective of the project is to enhance the economic status of the target group by providing them with opportunities to engage in income-generating activities. Through the production and marketing of jute-based products and home decor items, the project aims to empower these women and create sustainable livelihood options for them.
The launch of this project is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women in rural areas. NABARD’s support in this initiative demonstrates their commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive rural development. It is expected that this project will not only create employment opportunities for women but also contribute towards the growth and development of the local economy
