The strengthening of local nongovernmental organisations working for persons with disabilities is an important element of the strategic framework for JVD in the year 2022. Small disability organisations are working in a scattered manner without consulting each other for different service provision including lobby and advocacy at different level. We are trying to bring local level partner organisations and likeminded organisations on the same platform to develop a strong network of NGOs to support and avail the services of each other.  JVS felt a great need to learn more about networks and to test our assumptions and understanding of the contributions that they can make toward building effective network in different states. JVS conducted two open discussion meeting to build effective network of NGOs among our partner organisations and member of DPOs, at Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) and Imphal (Manipur) on 28th February and 29th March 2022. Total 51 participants including 17 persons with disabilities and DPO members participate to learn ongoing work of networks as a vehicle for building the capacity of individual NGOs. During the discussion, they have discussed about role and responsibilities of NGO, leadership, governance and effective management of networks to excellence and democratic decision-making processes.
