On March 11, 2024, Jan Vikas Samiti took a significant stride in supporting disabled children by distributing assistive devices and inaugurating a Prosthetic and Orthotic Unit. This initiative aims to alleviate the challenges faced by disabled children and empower them to lead more independent lives. During the program, we distributed 246 assistive devices to disabled children from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. These devices included 88 wheelchairs, 48 twin devices, 80 hearing aids, and 30 walkers. We aim to ensure that each child receives the necessary equipment to simplify their lives and enhance mobility and accessibility.
The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Mr Uttam Ohja, Advisory Committee on Disabilities, Government of India, along with Regional Coordinator, Rehabilitation Council of India, Shri Badri Prasad Verma – B.D.O., Harhua and Sister Irene, Founder Member of Jeevan Jyoti Sansthan, and Sister Shweta, Director of Jeevan Jyoti Sansthan. We perceive this initiative not just as a distribution of devices, but as a holistic effort to simplify the lives of disabled children. By inaugurating the Prosthetic and Orthotic Unit, we aim to provide ongoing support and assistance to those in need. This program reflects our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of disabled children, ensuring they have the support and tools they need to lead fulfilling lives.
