A two-days’ seminar on Resource Mobilization for Organizational Sustainability was organized by Jan Vikas Samiti on December 20-21, 2021 at Navjeevan Renewal Centre, New Delhi. There were 55 participants from 47 Organizations working in the field of disability and rehabilitation across North and Northeastern states. The resource persons for the seminar were Mr. Barat Joshi and Mr. Sarfraz Syed. The objectives of the seminar were: to understand the fundamentals on fund raising and resource mobilization; to learn project proposal writing and to know more about CSR.
Mr. Bharat Joshi explained in detail about fundraising strategies that can help the participants to mobilize resources and funds. He emphasized the need to have both a long term and short term strategy and plan for each organization for the next 20 years. Along with a good strategy, a committed team for resource mobilization is essential, he added. Donor management is yet another important aspect as organizations need to maintain the relationship with their donors consistently.
Mr. Sarfraz Syed explained in detail about project cycle management, such as identification, definition and design, proposal preparation, approval and financing, implementation and evaluation. He further dwelt upon writing a good Concept Note. At the end, he urged all the participating organizations to draft their own fund raising strategy and make conscious efforts to raise funds for their organization.
