On April 25, 2026, Jan Vikas Samiti organized an assistive devices assessment camp at its Aasra Kendra in Murdaha, Varanasi, under two key Government of India initiatives — the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana for senior citizens and the ADIP Scheme for persons with disabilities.

The camp saw the participation of 321 beneficiaries, including 269 senior citizens and 52 persons with disabilities from Harhua Block. A specialized team from ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India), Kanpur, conducted detailed assessments to evaluate individual needs.

Based on these assessments, beneficiaries have been identified for assistive devices such as wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aids, commode chairs, and crutches. These devices will be distributed free of cost in the next phase, ensuring support tailored to each individual’s requirements.

This initiative reflects Jan Vikas Samiti’s continued commitment to enhancing accessibility, promoting independence, and improving the quality of life for elderly citizens and persons with disabilities.
