Exposure Visit of Women Farmers at ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi
Varanasi, March 18, 2025 – Jan Vikash Samiti, Murdaha, Varanasi, organized a one-day exposure visit to ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR), Varanasi, for 30 women farmers from Purvanchal Gramin Krishak Producer Company Ltd Murdaha, Varanasi. The objective of this program was to raise awareness among women about natural and organic farming, modern agricultural techniques, and climate-resilient farming, thereby enhancing their practical knowledge and skills.

During the visit, Dr. T. Chaubey, Principal Scientist, delivered an important lecture on seed production techniques. Additionally, Dr. Shivam Chaubey, Agricultural Scientist of the Committee, and Felex Thomas, Head of the Sustainable Development Department, were also present. Several other committee members were part of the tour as well.

This educational visit introduced women farmers to advanced agricultural techniques, sustainable farming practices, protected cultivation (net houses, poly houses), and vegetable seed production. The initiative empowered them to make their farming more productive, sustainable, and climate-resilient.
