The accompanying themes were covered – Training on Preparation and application of Augmentative and Alternative Devices (AAC), Training on Teaching and learning materials (TLM) development and application, Capacity building on identification and goal planning of children with learning disabilities
The four days training program was a mixture of hypothetical, demonstration and practical sessions. The training was very special and unique for the participants as they quoted they had never attended any training on AAC before. This was a total learning experience as they learned about the AAC tools and how to assess the AAC user. Most importantly, the training gave them the confidence to deal with the children with speech impairment in their locality. The participants made the TLMs based on the themes given to them in the group activity. The training was exceptionally extraordinary and remarkable for both the participants and the resource persons.
