Jan Vikas Samiti conducted a one-day capacity-building seminar on Gender Equality and Justice at Gram Panchayat Hasanpur, Block Baragaon. Women and adolescent girls from Hasanpur, Bhiti, Sherwanipur and neighbouring panchayats actively participated in the session.

The seminar provided a safe and encouraging space for 120 participants to reflect on issues of equality, rights and dignity, and to strengthen their confidence to challenge discrimination within their communities.

Workshop on Sustainable Agricultural Practices

JVS organized a one-day workshop on Sustainable Agricultural Practices on 9 November 2025 at Deduana Panchayat, Kerakat, Jaunpur (U.P.), aiming to promote eco-friendly and climate-resilient farming among rural women farmers. The session was facilitated by Mr. Ravi Yadav, an expert in sustainable agriculture, who guided participants on key practices such as crop rotation, permaculture, soil treatment, soil testing, crop residue management, and effective use of organic manure.
The workshop emphasized how sustainable techniques enhance soil fertility, improve productivity, and contribute to environmental conservation. Fifty women farmers participated actively, engaging in discussions and practical demonstrations. They pledged to adopt sustainable and organic methods in their fields to reduce dependency on chemical inputs.
This initiative strengthened farmers’ knowledge and confidence to implement environmentally responsible farming, contributing to long-term livelihood sustainability and ecological balance in their communities.

Jan Vikas Samiti hosted a two-day Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Workshop on November 3–4, 2025, at Murdaha, Varanasi.

Seventeen dynamic leaders from Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana came together to strengthen their fundraising skills and build sustainable, inclusive futures.

Sessions covered CSR fundraising, donor mapping, event-based fundraising, and individual donor engagement — packed with interactive exercises and practical insights!

Each participant crafted a personalized fundraising action plan for their DPO, boosting confidence to mobilize diverse resources for disability inclusion and empowerment.

Together, we’re building stronger, self-reliant DPOs that drive real change!

Empowering Women Farmers through Animal Husbandry Training.

Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) organized a one-day training on Animal Husbandry-Based Livelihoods at Namami Gange FPO, Bankat, Varanasi, with 40 women farmers participating enthusiastically.

Led by Mr. Ravindra Pratap Singh, the session focused on poultry and fisheries management, sharing practical insights on sustainable livestock practices, feed management, and market opportunities.

Participants also visited fish ponds, hatchery units, and integrated livestock models for hands-on learning.

The training inspired women to embrace animal husbandry as a pathway to economic independence and strengthened rural livelihoods.

Workshop on Government Schemes and Entitlements for DPO Leaders

Jan Vikas Samiti organized a two-day workshop on Government Schemes and Entitlements on November 1–2, 2025, bringing together 16 passionate DPO leaders from Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

The sessions empowered participants with practical knowledge on rights and entitlements under the RPWD Act, 2016, including hands-on training in filing petitions and accessing online grievance platforms.

A major highlight was the submission of 15 petitions on the PG Portal, advocating for stronger implementation of disability provisions and additional pension benefits. Participants also explored schemes like the PM Housing Scheme and proposed the idea of a Disability History Museum.

Facilitated by Mr. Moosa Azmi and guided by Mr. Anil Kumar Mourya, the workshop concluded with renewed energy and a shared vision for continued advocacy and inclusion.

Inauguration of Tailoring Training Centre | Hiramanpur, VaranasiEmpowering women workers for change!

On 01 November 2025, Jan Vikas Samiti, with the support of GAATW under the WW4C – Women Workers for Change project, inaugurated a Tailoring Training Centre at Hiramanpur, Sandaha. The initiative aims to strengthen the skills and economic opportunities of local women workers.

During the event, Fr. Chetan, Executive Director of JVS, encouraged participants to make the most of this opportunity to build confidence, dignity, and financial independence through skill development and entrepreneurship.

The centre will train 30 women in two batches over three months, equipping them with practical tailoring skills and opening pathways to self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
