Jan Vikas Samiti organized a three-day training from September 10 to 12, 2025, at Murdaha, Varanasi, for members of Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs) from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. A total of 15 participants took part in the training, where they learned about government schemes and entitlements available for persons with disabilities. Through group discussions and shared experiences, they explored how to support others in their communities who often face difficulties in accessing their rights due to lack of information and other barriers. This training helped participants become more confident and better prepared to guide and assist persons with disabilities in their local areas.
Training for CBR consultants
Jan Vikas Samiti organized a 5-day (September 9-13, 2025) training in Varanasi with 17 CBR consultants from West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The training helped participants learn about government schemes and support available for persons with disabilities. It also focused on how to form and strengthen Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs), and how to support people with disabilities through the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) approach. Everyone shared ideas, learned together, and left with new energy to make their communities more inclusive and supportive for persons with disabilities.
