Women and adolescent girls from Hasanpur, Bhiti, Sherwanipur and neighbouring panchayats actively participated in the session.

The seminar provided a safe and encouraging space for 120 participants to reflect on issues of equality, rights and dignity, and to strengthen their confidence to challenge discrimination within their communities.

The children were shivering due to cold and with the distribution of the shawls and blankets, we were able to witness the smiles on their and their family members faces’. The families were grateful and thankful to Jan Vikas Samiti for their efforts in these hard times and were joyous about the fact that someone is concerned about them. Therefore, one by one we went to these villages and did a survey and saw the situation of these children and families. The names were noted down of these children and families and according to that list, the distribution happened. A total of 104 Shawls and 50 blankets were distributed to these families.

JVS Started the flood relief work on 1st September 2022 with a team of 10 persons with support of brother and fathers from Theresapur. Also, we sprinkled bleaching powder in 2 panchayats which will act as a disinfectant for the water. Our intervention is still going on.

]]> Ensuring Health for Mother and Child https://janvikassamiti.org/event/ensuring-health-for-mother-and-child/ Tue, 29 Mar 2022 01:20:49 +0000 https://janvikassamiti.org/?post_type=event&p=6036 Reducing Maternal Mortality rates through the improved reproductive health systems in rural areas and empowering rural women and girls to increase access to and control over maternal health services are the twin objectives of the project on Safe Motherhood. During this quarter, we sensitized 534 young women and lactating mothers through workshops on newborn child care and emergency healthcare through 102 Ambulances service. Besides, through 18 health camps, 1,435 people had their general health check-up and were subsequently provided with appropriate medicines.
